The employer’s requirements were for the design and construction of a new garage and workshop facility specifically to suit the needs of our clients tenant (Castlebrae Drainage).

In order to achieve the clients budget a major value engineering exercise was undertaken to reduce the original tender cost by 15% and still provide a facility which met the client’s needs.

 The works comprised of asbestos removal and demolition of existing buildings, driven steel piling, concrete foundations, floor slab, structural steel portal frame with facing blockwork, metal wall cladding, metal roof sheeting and roller shutter doors.

 Internally the formation of an office, kitchen, toilet and store complete with all services and the construction of a vehicle servicing pit. Externally hard landscaping, security fences and automatic entrance gates were installed
